Remembering the Sacrifice of Army Spc Jeremy R Gullett of Greenup KY

It is with heavy hearts that we remember the sacrifice of Army Spc Jeremy R Gullett, who gave his life while serving his country. At the young age of 22, Jeremy had already demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his duties as a member of the US Army. Assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky., Jeremy was a courageous soldier who dedicated himself to protecting his fellow Americans.

On May 7, 2008, tragedy struck when Jeremy’s vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device in Sabari District, Afghanistan. Alongside Staff Sgt. Kevin C. Roberts, Jeremy made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country. Their loss was felt deeply by their loved ones, their colleagues in the military, and their fellow citizens across the United States.

Today, we honor the legacy of Army Spc Jeremy R Gullett. We remember his bravery, his dedication, and his selflessness. We pay tribute to his sacrifice and to the sacrifices of all those who have given their lives in defense of our nation. And we vow to never forget the sacrifices made by Jeremy and his fellow servicemen and women, as we work to uphold the principles of liberty, democracy, and justice for which they fought.

As we move forward, we must continue to honor and remember Jeremy’s service. We can do this by supporting our troops and their families, by advocating for veterans’ rights and benefits, and by commemorating the sacrifices of those who have come before us. Let us never forget the sacrifices of Army Spc Jeremy R Gullett and all those who have given their lives for our freedom.
